An October 15 UNDP report highlighted a northwestern Colombian initiative linking forest protection and ecological restoration with support for communities affected by conflict.
The project covers a 112-hectare restoration and conservation area and supports beekeeping, cacao and local enterprises. The report connects protection of water sources and jaguar habitat with community agreements that share responsibilities and strengthen trust.
