NASA plans research flights near Transit, Texas, from October 22 to November 9 to measure emissions from animal-feeding operations. An A200 aircraft will support the campaign.

FarmFlux sensors will monitor methane, ammonia, ozone and particles to examine interactions between agriculture and the atmosphere. NASA Goddard, Colorado State University and Boston University jointly lead the mission.

Further flights are planned during the 2027 growing season to study cropland elsewhere in the United States.
