Wanita Berdaya Selangor and UNDP Malaysia announced a partnership on October 17 to pilot a neighbourhood “Care Block”, bringing services for children, older people and people with disabilities closer to residents.
The initiative aims to ease unpaid care burdens and support women’s participation in employment. Local consultations and feasibility work will shape the services, so the announcement concerns a planned pilot rather than an already opened centre.
