UNICEF said in an October 16 briefing that about 800,000 children in Gaza remained displaced and an estimated 60,000 had lost one or both parents during the war or since the ceasefire.
The agency warned about winter, damaged shelters and disrupted sanitation, calling for child protection and equipment to restore services. It reported that more than 560,000 children had returned to learning since the ceasefire, while major needs remained.
