On World Food Day, October 16, WFP urged wider use of innovation and action before crises strike, as conflict, extreme weather and trade disruption pressure food systems.
The agency highlighted forecasts that trigger aid ahead of droughts or floods and digital tools that speed support to households. It called for flexible, predictable funding.
Its message links humanitarian access with prevention: useful technology still requires resources and partnerships to reach vulnerable communities at scale.
