Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi in Amman, WAFA reported on 26 October 2026. Talks covered Gaza, the West Bank, Iraqi aid, UNRWA support and treatment of wounded Palestinians.

Abbas linked financial pressure to Palestinian revenues withheld by Israel, putting the amount at approximately seven billion dollars. That figure is attributed to his presentation, not a Haneen financial audit. Calls to activate the joint cooperation committee connected relief with public-service capacity, without announcing a new transfer of a specified sum.
