Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam Al Misnad urged protection of water infrastructure during armed conflicts, QNA reported on 19 October 2026.
At a Global Security Forum session, she warned about damage to desalination, treatment and distribution facilities and its impact on civilians. She linked water security to humanitarian diplomacy, aid access and compliance with international law, calling for cooperation to prevent essential-service disruptions.
