Around 100 cyclists took part in Madaba's first Mosaic Trail event on Friday, October 16, Petra reported. Riders set off from Peace Square near the map church towards Mount Nebo.
The programme included a 46-kilometre road route and a 16-kilometre mountain-bike route. Mohammad Al Saudi won the men's competition and Maryam Shaban led the women's field.
The event connected sporting activity with well-known local landmarks, combining competition with an introduction to the governorate's tourism attractions.
