China plans to send an envoy to countries affected by Middle East tensions, Reuters reported on 27 October. Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said the mission would promote contact and dialogue, while expressing concern over spillover into the Red Sea and Horn of Africa.

The initiative connects neighbouring security crises rather than addressing one party alone. Reuters also described earlier China–Djibouti talks linking regional de-escalation to Red Sea security. The announcement supplied neither the envoy’s name nor an itinerary and did not establish a negotiated outcome.
