WHO and INTERPOL signed a cooperation agreement addressing threats where public health, crime and security intersect, the organisations announced on October 16.
The framework covers falsified medical products, illegal organ trafficking and exceptional biological, chemical or radiological incidents requiring coordinated action.
It also includes preparedness for major international gatherings. By combining public-health expertise with law-enforcement capabilities, the partners aim to improve prevention, detection and responses to risks affecting communities worldwide.
