Japan contributed 300 million yen, approximately $1.8 million, to WFP assistance for 94,000 conflict-affected people in northern Mozambique.

Support will reach areas of Cabo Delgado and Nampula through canned fish and locally purchased rice. Local procurement also supports suppliers and markets.

WFP's October 15 statement says humanitarian needs remain greater than available resources, with displacement, high prices and extreme weather making it harder for vulnerable households to secure enough food.
