Masam reports Yemen clearance figures through October 23

Masam reported removing 597,965 mines, unexploded ordnance items and improvised explosive devices from its launch in June 2018 through October 23, according to government-run SABA’s October 25 report. It listed 86,503,193 square metres of cleared land.
The total combines different explosive remnants and should not be labelled entirely as anti-personnel mines. Items removed and land area cleared are separate measures, not figures to add together. The data describe the project’s reported work over the period; they do not establish that all Yemeni land is safe or quantify every remaining hazard.
