The EU and Montenegro provisionally closed three accession chapters on October 12, covering economic and monetary policy, statistics, and social policy and employment.
The total provisionally closed now stands at 21 of the 33 opened chapters. Monitoring continues, and chapter agreements remain provisional until an overall agreement is reached. This negotiating milestone does not mean membership has been completed.
