Nigeria’s Binari attack: reported tolls differ by source

A local official and residents reported at least twenty deaths after an attack on Binari in Nigeria’s Taraba state, QNA reported on October 25. State police separately said they had recovered ten bodies.

Those figures are not necessarily measuring the same thing: one is the locally reported toll, the other the number of bodies police said they recovered. With people still missing, neither should be presented as a final reconciled count. The cited report also does not establish an identified organisation responsible for the attack.
