North Korea criticised US military exercises with South Korea and separate drills involving Japan, QNA reported on 21 October. The agency cited Pyongyang’s state media warning of a reciprocal response.
South Korea’s Hoguk exercises involving US forces began on Monday, alongside the start of Keen Sword drills in Japan. The warning expresses Pyongyang’s position on the exercises; it is not evidence that a new military operation has occurred.
