Australia outlined security and development cooperation with Palau in an October 12 announcement accompanying President Surangel Whipps Jr.'s visit.
The announced programme included opening Palau's embassy in Australia and renewing development cooperation arrangements. Canberra also highlighted joint work against transnational crime and support for customs and border management.
Other areas include coral-reef protection, government services, skills and scholarships. These details describe the official visit programme; the advance announcement alone does not confirm completion of every planned engagement.
