Qatar proposes conflict-sensitive financing and investment-ready projects

Qatar’s international cooperation minister, Maryam Al Misnad, proposed clearer investment-mobilisation targets, better project preparation and financing tools for fragile states at the World Investment Forum, Qatar News Agency reported on 26 October.

The proposal focuses on turning available resources into viable projects, using public finance to address barriers to private investment. Al Misnad linked stability with investment and economic opportunity with peacebuilding. These are development-finance proposals for conflict-affected settings; the report announced no new fund or binding allocation.
