Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, discussed regional developments and diplomatic coordination with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Qatar News Agency reported on 26 October.

Qatar’s stated position emphasised a solution safeguarding maritime navigation and paving the way for a comprehensive regional agreement. Navigation is therefore part of the diplomatic objective, rather than an announcement that a route has reopened or its rules changed. The report specified no agreement terms or completion date.
