Qatar called for stronger international efforts toward nuclear disarmament in a UN General Assembly First Committee statement, QNA reported on 19 October 2026.
The statement warned against nuclear threats and the growing role of nuclear weapons in military doctrines. It backed the November conference on a Middle East zone free of weapons of mass destruction and stressed IAEA safeguards for peaceful nuclear activities.
