UNESCO reported on October 16 that Santo Domingo's Colonial City became the first cultural property to pilot its draft World Heritage Climate Action Toolkit, and the first trial in Latin America and the Caribbean.
An October 5–9 workshop assessed hazards and ways to integrate adaptation into historic-centre management. The pilot process continues until November 15 to gather feedback and refine the toolkit before its final version.
