Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul discussed stronger regional cooperation in energy and the digital economy during an October 12 visit to Bangkok.
Tharman also met Thailand's king and queen and invited them on a state visit to Singapore. According to Singapore's foreign ministry, he joined an IMF–World Bank annual meetings discussion on artificial intelligence and employment.
