US President Donald Trump said contacts and negotiations with Iran were continuing and ruled out using nuclear weapons against Tehran, Qatar News Agency reported on October 16, citing a Newsmax interview.
Trump also said Iran had requested a halt to attacks and linked his response to continuing negotiations. The account reflects the US president's statements. It did not announce a final agreement or provide independent Iranian confirmation of his description of the diplomatic contacts.
