UN human rights officials called for protection of the olive harvest, WAFA reported on 22 October. The agency cited OCHA recording at least 160 harvest-related settler attacks in the first two weeks of the month.

Concerns included damaged trees, stolen crops and farmers’ access restrictions. The count covers that stated period and should not automatically be combined with other organisations’ overlapping records.

Livelihoods and overlapping reporting periods

OCHA’s 15 October 2026 report described the olive harvest as supporting roughly 80,000 to 100,000 families. Harvest protection consequently concerns household income as well as farmers’ safety. Its monitoring periods must remain distinct: a September–October tally cannot be added to a first-two-weeks-of-October tally because incidents may overlap. OCHA.
