The UN warned that more than 19 million people in Afghanistan face hunger risk during winter, QNA reported on 20 October. OCHA spokesperson Olga Cherevko said improved harvests do not make food affordable for millions of households.
She highlighted years of drought, farming input costs and disappearing nutrition services, especially for children. Sustainable investment, economic opportunities and public services were urged alongside emergency aid.
