China’s foreign ministry said Wang Yi met Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Baku on October 15 alongside the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
According to the Chinese account, Herzog expressed interest in scientific, investment and people-to-people exchanges ahead of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. These positions are attributed to China’s published description of the meeting.
