The World Food Programme said funding shortages forced it to reduce its monthly food-assistance target in Gaza from 1.6 million people to 1.1 million, QNA reported on 19 October 2026.
That is a reduction of around half a million recipients. WFP said two-thirds of residents still faced acute food insecurity. The figures concern this programme’s coverage, not the total assistance provided by all humanitarian organisations.
