New Zealand announced on October 16 a net reduction of NZ$19.91 in border processing levies per cruise passenger, effective July 1, 2027.
The arrival levy will fall from NZ$27.14 to NZ$7.20, while the departure charge rises by three cents. The government said the adjustments reflect forecast service costs and passenger volumes. The lower cruise rates do not apply immediately. Air travellers will instead face a small combined increase of 32 cents under the revised settings.
