China reports Yaogan satellite groups reaching planned orbits

China launched two Yaogan remote-sensing satellite groups from Jiuquan on October 24, QNA reported. A Long March rocket carried them into their planned orbits, according to the report.

The announced purposes include resource surveys, crop estimates, scientific experiments and disaster reduction. Those are operational uses beyond the launch itself: reaching orbit does not establish the accuracy of future data or its measured effect on disaster response. The report provides no newly released observations or scientific results from the satellites, so those outcomes remain separate from the launch announcement.
