Canada announced C$18.5 million on October 16 for a C$87.5 million project to develop a new vehicle platform at Prevost, part of Volvo Group Canada, in Sainte-Claire, Quebec.
The platform will accommodate several propulsion technologies, including low- and zero-emission options. The government said the project would maintain 1,265 full-time-equivalent jobs while strengthening research and supply chains. It is a development and manufacturing investment rather than an announcement that a completed new fleet has entered service.
