Gaza hospital director Mohammed Zaqout told QNA on October 18 that evacuation restrictions and medicine shortages were worsening patients’ conditions. Gaza’s health ministry reported 2,027 patient and injured-person deaths since Rafah closed in May 2024.
Zaqout said hundreds of cases had been unable to leave during the latest restrictions. The figures and assessments are attributed to the health authorities cited, alongside calls for treatment access and supplies.
