Quitting tobacco: why support matters more than a willpower test
Nicotine creates strong dependence, so difficulty quitting should not be reduced to weak willpower

Nicotine creates strong dependence, so difficulty quitting should not be reduced to weak willpower. WHO reports that counselling and appropriate medication can improve the likelihood of successful cessation.
Ask a professional what behavioural support is available and which treatment fits your circumstances. A new nicotine product is not automatically an approved cessation treatment; marketing is not equivalent to health advice.
Tobacco harms extend beyond the user: second-hand smoke also affects others. Include protecting the home from smoke in your plan, without treating that step as a substitute for quitting or receiving appropriate care.
