High cholesterol usually produces no symptoms and is detected through a blood test, according to NHS guidance. Body weight or tiredness alone cannot reveal the level; inherited cholesterol problems can also occur early in life.

Food choices, activity and smoking are modifiable factors, but some people also need medicine. A useful consultation asks how the result fits other risk factors and what follow-up is needed, rather than focusing only on whether a number is high.

No single meal erases the problem. Base decisions on assessment and follow-up, not supplements marketed as artery cleaners.
