The World Health Organization announced a cooperation agreement with the American Society of Clinical Oncology on 15 October 2026, aimed at improving the quality of cancer care and widening access.

The partnership centres on three priorities: strengthening health-worker capabilities, improving opportunities to access clinical trials, and promoting quality, accessibility and accountability in oncology services. Training is expected to be adapted to different countries' needs.

Planned activities include in-person and remote training alongside regional research collaboration. The agreement does not announce a new cancer treatment or guarantee a particular patient outcome. It provides a framework for improving the systems, staff and services that deliver evidence-based care.
