WHO reviews supply chains for neglected tropical disease medicines
Coordination meetings addressed demand forecasts, stock visibility, shipping and customs clearance.

The World Health Organization reported on 13 October 2026 on coordination meetings to improve medicine supplies for neglected tropical diseases. The meetings took place in Geneva from 22 to 25 September.
Discussions covered more accurate demand forecasts, visibility of stocks, shipment schedules and customs procedures. Participants encouraged integration with existing national systems. WHO said the eight priority countries had developed approved standard operating procedures for their supply chains.
One example presented was Uganda's reduction in clearance time from around 90 days to 20 days. That is a specific country experience, not a uniform result across all participating countries. Tracking delivery, use and expiry remains an important part of the response.
