Student-built CubeSats launch towards the International Space Station
The project aims to test open-source space technology and support amateur-radio communications.

Two student CubeSats launched towards the International Space Station on 13 October 2026 aboard SpaceX's 35th commercial resupply mission, according to NASA.
The university collaboration, led by Cal Poly Pomona, aims to test open-source space technologies and support amateur-radio communications. Building and integrating spacecraft gives students experience with hardware, systems engineering and mission operations.
The programme uses a shared platform with documented designs and software that other teams can study and improve. This report concerns the launch towards the station. It does not assume that every experiment has succeeded or that independent orbital operations have begun; those stages require their own confirmations.
