Qatar University develops AI advising assistant with human oversight

Qatar University, the communications ministry and Scale AI signed an agreement to develop an Academic Advisor Assistant, QNA reported on 18 October 2026.

The planned platform combines a student-facing assistant for registration and study-plan questions with analytical tools for advisers. Early alerts would help identify academic difficulties while decisions remain under human oversight. The initiative aims to reduce administrative work and registration errors, leaving advisers more time for direct student support.
