A Swedish study associated dense green space within 100 metres of home with 20% lower dementia risk, QNA reported on 21 October. It analysed 2,993 people over 60 across 16 years.
Researchers recorded 477 dementia cases and adjusted for social, health and environmental factors. This observational association does not prove that nearby parks alone prevent dementia; the relationship weakened at greater distances.
