UNICEF delivered 75,000 medicine vials to Pakistan to support treatment of leishmaniasis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it announced on October 16.

The agency reported more than 10,500 cases since January, including over 4,400 children under 16. The provincial health department received supplies in Peshawar for distribution through selected facilities.

The medicines have a three-year shelf life to support continued availability for current and future outbreaks. The response focuses on access to care for affected children and families, alongside prevention and early detection.
